Each year, we showcase the many projects our group works on. The goal is to highlight the types of collaborations that are possible, and inspire others to find ways to start similar ones.
We have just started signing up members for our 2026 cohort, so I am really delighted to share that our 2026 outreach and projects have already begun. Just last week Karanne, Pat and I led the first workshop of our 2026 season to start a wonderful collaboration with Sabine and her students at the Glendon campus of York University. A chance encounter at a presentation of the new garden at université ontario français started the conversation between Sabine and Sayeh on the ways that USS could work with Sabine’s class on environmental activism to add more native plants to Glendon’s existing students/staff gardening project.

There were around 20 different seed varieties for students to explore as they went from station to station and tried different techniques.

The packaged seeds will be used for the new Glendon seed library.

Many of the students had to leave for their next class but we still managed a final group picture with some. Looking forward to coming back to check on the seedlings in a few months!
