Broadland Community Centre seed workshop

USS members (L-R) Mina, Alain, Sayeh, Maia, Marjan and Sheri came together to host a seed-cleaning/winter-sowing workshop at Broadlands Community Centre

I have always wanted to create an event specifically for my own neighborhood, so imagine my delight when Broadlands Community Centre decided to partner up with us to hold the workshop. A huge thanks goes out to the amazing staff at the centre who took care of advertising, registration and equipment.

Everyone had lots of fun and we were able to gift winter-sowing kits and seeds.

One of the best parts was the display of native plants, many of which were featured in the talk. This gave attendees to really get to know the plants and what they looked like.

And our information table that had lots of booklets and handouts generously provided by City of Toronto Parks and Forestry was quite popular. We’re looking forward to even more events with Broadlands community centre in the future.
